All Gorilla Press books are written by kids, for kids.
We work with communities, schools, and families to make
kids' books and promote literacy. The mission of The
Gorilla Press is to help kids seize the tools of storytelling,
writing, editing, and publishing. Founded in 2000 by
Dr. Jennifer Natalya Fink, The Gorilla Press is a non-profit
organization whose aim is to promote literacy through
book-making. Our goal is to empower, educate, and enlighten
both children and adults through books.
Our motto is "Join Gorilla —Change Your Jungle"
because we believe that by joining The Gorilla Press,
kids, parents, teachers, principals, and everyone else
can transform not just one kid, but the whole community.
We need you!
We are volunteer-driven; we believe that the most valuable
resource any adult can give to a child is love, time,
and attention. However, printing books is expensive;
therefore, we must seek funding to sustain and develop
our innovative programs.
